Hi,

My name is Jazmin Denise Rodriguez, but I prefer either Jaz or Jazzy. I am 18 years old turning 19 on October seventh (Go October Babies!) I am majoring in Psychology with an emphasis in social work. I hope to earn my Master’s degree in 5 years. I am the first in my family to go to a University, although it is very exciting I find myself missing my family a lot! I am one of five siblings: I have an older half-brother who is 33 years old, an older sister who is 21 years old, a younger sister who is 10 years old and a little “minion” brother who will turn 2 on September 22nd.

In high school I was very involved. I was a Balarat Counselor for fifth graders who have never been away from home, and had the opportunity to experience staying in the mountains over night for the first time. I was also a link leader for incoming freshman, captain for JV cheer my junior year of high school, and the female representative for the class of 2014.

Currently at UNC I am running for RHA Representative in community council for south hall. I would also like to join the Multi-Culture Sorority of Sigma Lambda Gamma. I love their motto of sisterhood within the Latina environment. I come from a very traditional Mexican family and it has been difficult finding people who are in a sense like me.
